Kanazawa is a historic city in Ishikawa Prefecture. Kenrokuen Garden is a beautiful Japanese garden covering an area of 11.4 hectares, located on the heights of the central part of Kanazawa and adjacent to Kanazawa Castle. Kenrokuen Garden features a large artificial pond, with hills and houses scattered throughout the garden. Visitors can enjoy the entire garden by exploring these features. The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, opened in October 2004, is a new-style art museum that differs in image from traditional art museums. The museum showcases experimental contemporary art that visitors can touch or sit on, and it includes areas where visitors can enter for free. Both adults and children can have an exciting experience at the museum.
